Citing Data from EDRN LabCAS
Data stored in the EDRN Cancer Biomarkers Data Commons (LabCAS) can be publicly cited in research publications. The Informatics Center can issue a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to facilitate data discovery and to acknowledge research contributions and federally funded research outputs.
Why a DOI?
- A DOI provides a persistent link to your data's location, ensuring accessibility even if the original dataset is retired or removed.
- It supports the traceability of research progress and data outputs.
- Our DOIs adhere to best practices, guaranteeing long-term citability.
Obtaining a DOI:
- Contact the JPL Informatics Center
- Request a DOI, specifying whether for a full collection, dataset(s) or file(s), and provide:
- LabCAS links to the data you would like to be made public
- The following DOI required registration attributes:
- Creator(s). The main researcher or researchers involved in producing the data, in priority order
- Institution Name
- Researcher Name
- Title of the resource
- Contact Person
- Institution Name
- Contact Person Name
- Contact Person Email
- Creator(s). The main researcher or researchers involved in producing the data, in priority order
Citing Your Data:
- Use the assigned DOI as the unique identifier.
- Format your citation with the dataset's author(s), title, date, and publisher.
- Use the citation DOI Citation Formatter
