- Description
- EsoCheck is used to collect esophageal cells. The EsGuard DNA test is then used to detect Barrett's esophagus or esophageal adenocarcinoma by analyzing methylation on the VIM and CCNA1 genes. From Esoguard.com: With over 90% sensitivity and specificity at detecting BE and EAC, the EsoGuard esophageal DNA test allows detection of these conditions in a simple office-based procedure WITHOUT endoscopy. EsoGuard analyzes methylation at 31 sites on 2 genes. From https://www.luciddx.com/esocheck: EsoCheck is a cell collection device that is designed to collect cells of a targeted region of the esophagus without the need for endoscopy. The sampled cells can then be subjected to any commercially available diagnostic test.
