Analytic Method
Toray would like to collaborate with NCI/EDRN on the study for early detection of pancreatic cancer using New Onset diabetes (NOD) cohort. As an initial step of the collaboration, subjects of “Pancreatic Cancer Reference Set” are to be measured to analyze performance characteristics (sensitivity, specificity) using ELISA kits for in vitro diagnostic use and set the optimal cut-off value of ELISA APOA2-TQ/AT for pancreatic cancer screening. NCI will send the pancreatic reference blood samples (preferably both plasma and serum) to Toray in Japan or U.S. Then, Toray will blindly measure the APOA2 isoform using kits for in vitro diagnostic use. Toray then returns the data retrieved from the samples to NCI. NCI calculates sensitivity, specificity, AUC and the optimal cut-off value for pancreatic cancer screening.
