STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases in response to cytokines and growth factors and are involved in signal transduction and activation of transcription. There are several transcript variants produced by alternative splicing.

- Development and validation of sandwich ELISA microarrays with minimal assay interference.
- Discovery and preliminary confirmation of novel early detection biomarkers for triple-negative breast cancer using preclinical plasma samples from the Women's Health Initiative observational study.
- Plasma biomarker profiles differ depending on breast cancer subtype but RANTES is consistently increased.
- Stat6 cooperates with Sp1 in controlling breast cancer cell proliferation by modulating the expression of p21(Cip1/WAF1) and p27 (Kip1).
